Happy Valentine's Day!!
While I love a day to celebrate mine and Gerard's relationship/love, I do think it is extremely important to celebrate each other everyday. Valentine's Day is also my dad's birthday so it has helped put into perspective what today is and what it is not.
Since Gerard works as a server in a restaurant, he has to work all night (and I finally don't have to!) so I only got to see him for about 20 minutes this morning. He was so sweet and surprised me with flowers this morning though.
It is so hard to believe we have been together for almost 3 1/2 years. It makes me think back to the first Valentine's Day I knew Gerard, probably 6 months before we started dating, and I had a little crush on him. We had met just over a month before and I thought he was cute and really nice so our mutal friend talked me into leaving little goodies on his doorstep for Valentine's Day.
So I took the little knowledge I knew of Gerard at that point, got him some goodies, red & purple skittles and an Arizona Mucho Mango and made some sort of goofy note, and dropped it on his doorstep. See, Gerard used to work at a golf course and on Saturday mornings (which this Vday was) he had to be there around 5am. I thought this was perfect, he would see it on his way out. But of course, this Saturday morning, he went through the garage and didn't know about it until his sister told him about it. Gerard totally knew it was me that left it and we texted about it later that day and I definitely played it down to make it seem like I was just trying to be nice and there was nothing beyond that! Ha!
I still can't believe I did that and we laugh about it to this day! And every Valentine's Day I get Gerard Skittles and a Mucho Mango.
It is so fun to think about all the fun times we had before we started dating. Before Gerard and I started dating, I was the only girl in a group of 5 guys and G was one that always took care of me, paid for things, and was a good, genuine friend. I am still so thankful and blessed that I still have this guy by my side as a sweet, genuine friend.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!

It's so great to have those little things that really are only meaningful to you as a couple. Nobody else understands, but it doesn't matter. Have a great night!
